Jimmy Fallon takes over as host of the "Tonight Show" on Monday, bringing the show back to New York City after 42 years.

The "Tonight Show" was originally located in New York, but Johnny Carson took the show to Burbank, California in 1972. It remained there during the tenure of both Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.

Last year when it was announced that Fallon would take over as host, NBC also said the show would move back to its original home. A new studio has been built and the audeince capacity has been increased.

Jay Leno hosted the "Tonight Show" for the final time February 6. Seth Meyers takes over as host of "Late Night" on February 24.
