A dog narrowly escaped being dinner thanks to the brave actions of the family cat, who charged at two attacking coyotes and scared them away from the dog they were ambushing. The cat, Binx, has lived at the Dyer since showing up as a stray kitten years ago. She has become like one of the family pets. So when the Dyers' small Havanese dog Oakley was let outside to relieve herself, Binx sprang into action as two coyotes suddenly attacked. Binx raced into the yard and went after the coyotes, frightening them off and giving Oakley time to run to safety.
As the dog was squatting, the first coyote grabbed the dog before a second appeared. That's when Binx risked one of those 9 lives to save her sister!
The injured Oakley was rushed to the vet, where she received stitches and had her leg put in a splint. Thankfully, with rest, she recovered and didn't need it amputated. The Dyers reviewed their security footage to see Binx selflessly confronting the coyotes to protect Oakley. Now recovered from her wounds, Oakley is back to her happy, playful self thanks to her heroic feline friend.
