There was only one left and come February there will be no more. All full size Sears stores in the Albany area will have shut their doors.
The last remaining Sears is in Wilton Mall, but it was announced Thursday that it too will close up shop in February. Liquidation sales are set to begin later this month.
Sears filed bankruptcy earlier this year, claiming that only about 400 out of their 1000 stores nationwide were profitable. It was announced earlier this year that Sears in Aviation Mall in Queensbury would also be closing its doors. The largest and oldest Sears store in the area was located in Colonie Center, but that closed down in 2017.
