The long abandoned Saratoga County Homestead in Providence, a former tuberculosis sanitarium, is up for auction. The hospital opened in 1913 and was in operation until 1979 when it closed down and fell into disrepair. It's notoriously known throughout the Capital Region as one of the creepiest (and possibly haunted) locations in the area.
What's left of the building sits on 28 acres. In 2016 a 1.6 million dollar asbestos removal project took place.
The current high bid for the building and property is $30,000.
In recent years, it has been a place of interest for urban explorers, who sneak onto the property to get pictures and video of what remains.
