The new Nexflix movie 'The Laundromat' focuses on the 2005 Ethan Allen boat disaster on Lake George and ultimately the insurance scheme that followed. It's a fictional account where Meryl Streep plays the widow of a man who drowned in the accident and the unfolding fraud that was exposed through phony insurance companies.
The scenes involving Lake George were shot in California at Lake Arrowhead.
Also starring in the movie are Gary Oldman, Sharon Stone, Antonio Banderas, and James Cromwell.
