After weeks of rumors, Miley Cyrus has finally dropped “Used To Be Young.” The song dropped after her ABC special, "Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions)." The special was an updated version of a show originally aired on Disney+, and can be streamed on Hulu now by the way!
Miley previously revealed that “Used To Be Young” has deeply personal lyrics, and releasing it today had special meaning for her. “I decided to release ‘Used To Be Young’ on August 25 because this particular date historically has been important to me personally and in my career,” Miley shared.
August 25th, 2010 was when reports first came out about her and Liam Hemsworth splitting up (they got back together before officially ending things in 2019). August 25th, 2013 was also the release date of her mega-hit “Wrecking Ball” and when she made headlines for her twerking performance with Robin Thicke at the VMAs.
