If you pay any attention to local high school sports then you've heard the name Chuck Dukes before. If you're from South Colonie, you definitely should know the legend of Chuckie Dukes and what he did to defenses in the Suburban Council "back in the day". If now I'll give you the quick version, when Chuck graduated from Colonie High he was Section 2's all time leading rusher. He went on to Boston College and from there spent some time in the NFL with the Redskins and Steelers. Chuck also spent some time in the World Football League. After dealing with a career ending injury he went on to coach High School and youth football for 22 years.
Now, what you may not be aware of is that he has opened a "Football Academy" right here in the Capital Region. They're located on Railroad Ave in Colonie. If you are thinking of getting your child involved with football or ANY youth sports then you should consider sending your child to "Chuck Dukes Football Academy" I know. you're thinking that this is only for football but it's not. They help train for ALL sports there.
Just so we're clear on this too, they're not paying me to talk about them here. I'm doing it because I'm from Colonie and saw first hand what Chuck could do on the football field. He knows what it takes to get to the next level and beyond. I'm posting this because I want to help out a fellow Raider and to make you aware that we DO have a place right here in our back yard that can help your child gain the necessary skills to become a better athlete.
