This one's not easy to post about but it's worth it.
Think back to 2012, it really wasn't that long ago. I can tell you one HUGE event that happened that year that really stands out in my mind. The night that Deanna Rivers and Chris Stewart were killed on the Northway after a drunk driver hit Chris' car and flipped it multiple times. I can remember the line of traffic on the Northway that I saw. I can imagine how many people were sitting in their cars thinking "what is going on? Why are we just sitting here?" Then later finding out what happened. I remember the outpouring of support that the whole area showed for Bailey Wind and Matt Hardy, the two kids that survived the crash but lost their best friends. I can only imagine the pain that their family's feel on a daily basis.
Ok, this isn't about me, but now that I've refreshed your memory a little bit about what happened in 2012 let's get to last night at Shenendehowa's Homecoming Game. The Plainsmen dedicated and named their Press Box after Chris Stewart. What happened to these kids and their family's will never be forgotten by the Shen community and now students will know Chris' name for years to come.
As a Colonie High Alumni, I tip my cap to Shen for this awesome dedication!
