An Open Letter To My Daughters

posted by D.Scott -

To my daughters,

I would like to start by saying that I'm sorry that I don't get to see you every day. There are times that I wish things were different but just because I don't see you doesn't mean that I'm not always thinking about you. There are days that I'll just sit at my desk here at the radio station and stare at the pictures of you both that I have everywhere.

On a much happier note, I hope you both know that I am extremely proud of you both. You two are growing in to such amazing young ladies.

Robyn, I can't begin to tell you how proud I am that you have found your sport! Seeing you grow as a cheerleader over the past year or so has been amazing. I know that you think I'm not paying attention to what you're doing but believe me I am. I am bursting with pride and I am extremely happy for you. I cannot wait to see where cheer takes you in life! Aside from that, I love that you and I can sit and talk about pretty much anything. You are growing up far to fast. You young lady, are one of a kind! The fact that you can balance the work load of school and cheer is astonishing. Factor in that you are stunning and smart? Girl, you are the total package.

Madi, you my little friend are certainly one of a kind. Your personality, sense of humor and intelligence are mind blowing. Throw in the talent that you have in dance and music and just like your sister, you are the total package. Pride is all I have in you. I'm looking forward to watching you grow and I am excited to see what your future holds!

Ladies, both of you have filled my life with such joy. I will never be able to express how much I love you both. I have just a few simple requests. No matter where life brings you, or how far it may separate you, always talk to each. Phone calls, texts, frequent visits. ALWAYS keep in touch with each other. Also, no matter where you end up in life or how successful you both become, NEVER forget where you come from. Stay grounded and remember that everyone deserves the same respect. Nobody is better than anyone. Knowing you both, I don't foresee this being an issue, but it's always nice to be reminded.

I love the two of you more than you will ever understand! You both saved me when I was in a very dark place in my life and I am eternally grateful to the both of you.
