Demi Lovato has been pretty open about all the issues that she's dealt with in her life, not all but many, and that continues with her recent interview with Dr. Phil.
Demi said "The very first time I was suicidal was when I was seven. I had this fascination with death," she shares. "I have experienced things that I have not talked about, and I don't know if I ever will talk about. But at seven, I knew that if I were to take my own life, that the pain would end."
"It came back several times -- when I was struggling with depression, my bipolar disorder,” she offers. “And there was a while there when my mom was afraid to wake me up in the mornings because she didn't know if she opened the door if I would be alive or not.”
The fact that Demi is willing to open up and talk about dealing with depression and being bi-polar is very commendable, if you ask me. There are many young kids that look up to Demi and if they are hearing or seeing that she deals with these issues, or has dealt with, the same issues as they are, there's a great chance that it will help these kids. Knowing that others are willing and able to talk about the anxieties or worries that they have can help a lot when it comes to dealing with your own issues. I applaud Demi for being able to get help for her problems and for also being willing to let the public in to her private struggles.
