Generally I share a few posts throughout the dance season and this is my typical post right before Nationals. For the next 7-10 days we'll be in the Poconos for Nationals which is how we wrap up every dance season.
I just wanted to share with you some of my thoughts on this past year. Let me start by saying that I personally am extremely proud of every single child on our competition team. There isn't a time that I watch any of you dance that I'm not impressed. Not only are you a joy to watch on stage but I watch you backstage with kids from other studios and I have to say that they way you support people that you've never met before is what's most impressive. It shows that you all seem to get what this is all about. It's not that trophy or medal. It's not about where you place, and yes I know winning is fun, but it's truly about doing something that you love. It's about having a great time and making memories that you will have your entire life.
On a personal level for me, I get to watch my daughter get up on stage and fully enjoy being up there. She has a passion for dance and I'm proud of her ever single time she steps on the stage. Dance has helped her in so many different aspects of life thus far. She's learned how to manage her time between school and dance - Practice time and homework. This year, she has grown so much not only in her performance but in her skill level. I could go on and on forever about Madi but I'll just sum it up with I'M SO PROUD OF HER!
This week we will finish up a great season with one last go competition. To all the kids at WOD, get up on that stage and shine like the stars that you all are! To all of our graduating seniors, I'd like to wish you all the best of luck in your future. It's been a pleasure watching you all grow up.
That's it. Time for me to get ready to pack for this "vacation" and cheer on a group of children that may possibly be the greatest group there is.
