It all happened on Wednesday as some extra cars were attached to an Amtrak train that was leaving the Albany-Rensselaer station. The train was headed for Penn Station in NYC but they ran into an issue on their way there.
On the way to NYC 2 of the passenger cars had separated from the rest of the train. Quick thinking RPI Freshman Reuben Clarke had enough where with all to pull the emergency brake at the front of the car. There were 287 people on the train and thanks to Clarke's quick thinking there were no injuries reported and the train did not derail.
