The plan is to hold Woodstock 50 in Watkins Glen for the 50th anniversary of the original festival. The dates that were announced are August 16th, 17th and 18th. Like I said, that's the plan. It all sounds fantastic but since they announced the show back in January, rumor is that the guys that are putting the show together have run into a bit of financial issues. Oh, and they're having a problem with the venue and it's capacity too.
So, that's the rumor. However, festival co-founder Michael Lang is saying that the festival is a go! Lang is basically saying that we should ignore the rumors and get ready for a once in a lifetime event that will feature over 80 artists. Who will those artist be? Lang says that the lineup will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Some names that are being thrown around to perform are Dead & Co, The Black Keys, Miley Cyrus, Santana, Jay Z, Chance The Rapper, Halsey and Imagine Dragons. Those are all just rumors at this point since, like I said earlier, nothing has been officially announced.
So, the question is, WILL Woodstock 50 happen as promised or is this all just going to go away? Guess we'll have to wait and find out. Let's just hope we don't end up with another Fyre Festival ordeal.
