Over the weekend a very large group of people boarded 2 Yankee Trails buses and headed for the Bronx to watch the NY Yankees play the Boston Red Sox. The reason, it was our friend Dan Bruno's 46th birthday. Unfortunately, Dan was not with us to enjoy the day. He had passed away on 12/30/18. The group of people that boarded these buses were his family and some of his closest friends. You see, Saturday was Dan's actual and as fate would have it, the Sox were playing the Yankees. I should add that Dan was one of the biggest Red Sox fans that there were. It was the best way to celebrate a life that ended far you early.
There were a ton of laughs and some tears shed on Saturday. As I walked into "The Stadium" if found myself filling up. I couldn't help but think that Dan should have been there with us to enjoy the day. Now, I know he was there watching and enjoying us all celebrating him, it would have been that much sweeter if he was there to celebrate with us. I was actually over come with emotions a few times during the game. Dan is missed by so many people. I can't even begin to explain the hole that his passing has left for all of us.
Easily, one of the highlights of the day was seeing this on the video screen at Yankee Stadium
If there is one message I can pass along, that we learned from Danny, is that you need to live every day to the fullest. Enjoy your life. Smile and say hello to strangers. Make friends. Be kind. Okay, that's a bunch of things I learned from Danny but you get the point.
We love and miss you DSB!
