The CEO of Pfizer said that there is a good chance that we will need to get "booster" shot every 12 months. He also added that an annual shot, much like the flu shot, is not out of the question.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but getting a shot every 12 months and getting an annual shot are the exact same thing, no? So really, the annual shot is not out of the question, it sounds to me like this is what's going to happen. I'm not surprised by it considering they don't have any tests proving that the 2 shot vaccine is effective past 6 months. From what I can tell, the vaccine is new and they didn't have time to properly test the effectiveness of it. They say that it is still effective after 6 months but beyond that, they're not really sure.
I really feel like we're just making it up as we go along at this point. I want to trust what the doctors and scientists are saying but it's getting harder and harder for me to do so considering the information that we get seems to change every time the wind shifts directions. I don't think the "experts" would ever do this but I'd almost rather them just tell us "we're not really sure what's going to happen at this point". It might not be the greatest thing they could tell the public but at least it's honest.
The way I see it, the COVID-19 shot is going to be something that is suggested we get just like the flu shots.
