UPDATED: Will There Be Snow For The St. Patrick's Day Parade? (POSTPONED)

Update - The parade, scheduled for tomorrow in downtown Albany has been postponed until March 19th. Looks like the city didn't want to take any chances with the weather that may come on the 12th aka tomorrow.

For the first time in 2 years, Albany will hold it's St. Patrick's Day Parade in person. That's right, it's the first live parade since the pandemic started! There will be people in downtown Albany, celebrating like we "used to" just a couple of years ago. Green beer, shamrocks all over, people laughing and enjoying themselves. You know, normal St. Patrick's shenanigans.

There might be one small hiccup in the celebration, however. No, you won't have to watch a virtual parade but you might have to deal with a mid March snow storm. At least, that seems to be the forecast for now. Keep in mind that this could change by Saturday but as of right now, I'm seeing that we could get either 1 to 3 inches or 3 to 6 inches. The key word there is "could". Since the temperature look like it's going to be around 37 degrees, we might end up just seeing rain or possibly a mixture of both. The other factor that we will have to deal with is the wind.

If it's not one thing, it's another, right? We finally get the St. Paddy's Day Parade back in person but now Mother Nature wants to be a pain and give us some yucky weather to deal with. I'm sure for the die hard parade goers the weather won't matter. I'm not even sure the weather will matter for most people considering we're just looking to get out and do our normal stuff again. I say, bundle up, grab an umbrella and get to Albany and enjoy.
