SUNY Albany Women Play Louisville On Friday At 6pm

For the first time in 5 years, the women's basketball team from SUNY Albany will play in the NCAA Tournament. Their opponent in the first round? The Louisville Cardinals. The #1 seed in the Wichita Region. Will it be an easy game for SUNY? Absolutely not. Can they pull off an upset? It's rare but it has happened before. I've watched these girls play for most of this season and if they play the way that their capable of playing, they can give Louisville a good run.

Regardless of Friday's outcome, this is an amazing opportunity and experience for these ladies. They get to play on National television, the game is at 6pm on ESPN 2, against one of the best teams in the Country. They will make memories that will last them a life time. There aren't very many people that have gone to SUNY Albany that get to say that they played in the NCAA Tournament but these ladies can. Not to mention the fact that, technically, they're playing for a National Championship. If the stars align and they manage to be the ultimate Cinderella team, they could be raising that National Champion plaque at the end of all of this.

Either way, if anyone on that team happens to read this, please know that your fans are very proud of you. You're school is proud of you. You family, without question, is proud of you. All of those cheerleaders are proud of you. Most importantly, you should be proud of you!

So, come this Friday, play your game and don't let the moment take over your mindset. Stay focused, play as a team and have a great time! Enjoy every moment of this experience. I will definitely be watching the game and cheering you on here in Albany.
