Haunted Places To Visit In The Capital Region

The "spooky season" is officially here and I know you're looking for some "real" haunted places to visit so you can tell a ghost story that is all yours. There are loads of places all over The Capital Region or very close by that you can visit. I'd love to say that I looked these places up just for you but the truth is, I enjoy going to new places that have had paranormal activity reported, so this list is just as much for me as it is for you.

First on the list is Albany Rural Cemetery. One of the oldest cemeteries in the area and there has been a lot of reports of things happening here. I've actaully been there quite a few times and the experiences that I've had are unexplainable, to put it mildly. The reports of apiritions and "ghost" sightings are way too high to count. If you have a chance to walk around the enormous property, I hightly suggest it.

Also, Pinewoods Cemetery is a very notorious place to visit this time of year. It's been called one of the "Gateways to Hell" and the reports of paranormal activity, like Albany Rural, are countless. However, I'm not exaclty sure you can just go to Pinewoods and wander around. The property is monitored and is not open to the public.

The Old Saratoga Homestead is another infamous property in the area. This old building, which is over 50,000 square feet has 3 floors of history and paranormal activity. Like Pinewoods, you can't just show up and wander around. However, they have started doing tours of the property. If you'd like to book a tour you can visit their Facebook page - www.facebook.com/saratogahomestead

A few other places that have the reputation of being haunted would be Historic Cherry Hill, The Ten Broeck Mansion, The NY State Capitol building, The NY State Education building, Cohoes Music Hall, Loudon Cottage and to be honest, there are far too many for me to list here. But, the places that I've listed are a great place to start. Good luck and happy ghost haunting.
