Scarlett Johansson Was Named 2018's Highest Paid Actress

It's a big day for Scarlett Johansson, because it's not every day you find out you're the highest paid actress in Hollywood... or the world.

Yep! The Forbes list was released of the highest paid actresses in the world right now, and ScarJo herself dethroned Emma Stone who previously held that title.

According to the site, she didn't just double, but has quadrupled her 2017 earnings, raking in $40.5 million this year thanks in part to her role as Black Widow in the Avengers films.

For Emma, she went from #1 to not making the top 10 this year, but that's likely due to taking more time off or preparing for upcoming projects, so I wouldn't worry about her too much!

The number 2 spot on the list was somewhat of a surprise - Angelina Jolie. She came in at $28 million, with a majority of those earnings stemming from her role in the upcoming Maleficent 2 movie.

Fan-favorite, Jennifer Aniston is inthe third spot for 2018, earning $19.5 million. Most of her earnings come from endorsement deals with Smartwater, Aveeno and Emirates airlines.

In fourth is Jennifer Lawrence with $18 million, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see her closer to the top of the list again in the coming years.

At No. 5 on the Forbes list is one of our all-time favorite actresses, Reese Witherspoon with $16.5 million, a lot of that due to her roles A Wrinkle in Time and the upcoming season of Big Little Lies 2. I mean, we've seen filming sneak peaks of her throwing an ice cream cone at the QUEEN, Meryl Streep, so you know that one is going to be good. I also cannot wait to see how the new Legally Blonde she has been teasing changes her spot on the list.

In sixth is Mila Kunis, follow close behind Reese with with $16 million. And then Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Melissa McCarthy and Gal Gadot all round out the top 10.

I have to say, this list seems pretty surprising to me, I think we always expect to see only the biggest names (like a Meryl Streep, etc) on the list, but it's all about how many movies with what budgets you're putting out, I guess! You go girls!!
