The Albany area was left scratching its head after the brand new restaurant and concert venue Rascals abruptly closed its doors on Monday. It had been open for barely 7 months when employees were told very little information, except that they wouldn't be needed for the foreseeable future.
That's for sure. Apparently, contractors rushed to get the $3.2 million space ready for a July 1st opening. Now, after its sudden closing, the Albany Business Review says contractors say they are owed in the ballpark of $880,000 - of which they doubt they'll see little, if any of it.
So if financial difficulties were plaguing the restaurant this early, perhaps that's what led to the closing.
