The newest Albany area movie megaplex will be in Troy. The City Council voted 8-1 to allow the development of an 8-10 theater complex at 1 Monument Square in the downtown area.
Bow Tie Cinemas will operate the new movie theater, estimating it could bring as many as 10,000 people a week to the downtown area.
Developers hope to open the cinema toward the end of 2018.
