Vacant since the 1980's, that big concrete building next to 787 may finally get some restoration. The building's owner, Evan Blum wants to turn it into a giant 'art project'.
Although unclear what kind of art project it will become, Blum met with Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan earlier this week, and Sheehan mentioned that they will attempt to 'stabilize' the building - meaning it likely won't be demolished.
The building, a concrete structure, was in use until the early 1990's, but has fallen into disrepair over the last twenty plus years.
In 2010 a massive fire broke out in the building and burned for days, but did no structural damage.
