Big Explosion In Schenectady

An explosion at at asphalt plant in Schenectady was the alarm some hotel guests were woken to. It happened shortly before 7am at the Mohawk Asphalt Emulsions plant on Freeman's Bridge Road in Schenectady.

The explosion was powerful enough to rock the area and scare some people out of bed in the Homewood Suites next door.

Fire crews were able to get it under control quickly and luckily nobody was injured.

Last year an explosion killed two workers at the plant.
