Bill Cosby was presented with an honorary doctorate by RPI in 2001. On Friday, RPI's board of trustees voted to rescind the honor due to the comedian's conviction on sexual assault charges.
They released a statement:
On Friday, May 18, 2018 the Board of Trustees of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute voted to rescind the honorary degree awarded to William H. Cosby Jr. in 2001
Earlier this month the SUNY board stripped Cosby of his doctorate awarded in 2000 by the Fashion Institute of Technology.
