As hurricane Florence makes her way toward North Carolina, massive evacuations continue to take place, as many as ten million people will be affected with winds that could reach over 100 mph. Weather casters are saying the rain from this storm will be measured in feet instead of inches.
Although dropped from a Category 3 to a Category 2 hurricane, Jeff Byard from FEMA says this is still an extremely dangerous storm:
Do you want to get hit with a train or do you want to get hit with a cement truck?
States of emergency have been declared in both Carolinas, as well as Virginia and Georgia. By Monday, the storm is expected to reach parts of Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
