An unbelievable scene on the Hudson River Friday morning when falling temps caused ice to break up and several boats, including the Captain JP and to break free and float down the river. The Captain JP floated right into the Livingston Ave bridge, used by Amtrak.
As you can see, there is obvious damage to the top of the boat, as the hull slams into the concrete supports of the bridge.
Several tugboats, barges, and the Rusty Anchor restaurant were all ripped from their restraints by the flow of heavy water and ice, causing bridges in the area to be shut down during the morning commute, all have since been reopened.
