Troy Bar Loses Liquor License

River Street Pub

Troy has one less watering hole after the state liquor authority suspended the license of the River Street Pub on Wednesday. Apparently a patron of the bar was shot on January 22nd and bar management failed to report it to police. Not only that, when officials arrived on the scene, they found that the area where the shooting took place had been scrubbed down with bleach in an attempt to conceal the incident.

The victim is 28 year old Maurice Magee from Glens Falls. He was treated for gunshot wounds to the stomach and the leg.

According to the Times Union , this is the second time employees failed to report a serious crime at the bar - the first happened in 2014 when a fight started in the bar and would out on the street causing a victim to be slashed with a broken bottle. The bar was fined $2000 at the time.
