The first thing we think of when we hear 'Ichabod Crane' is 'snow day', but today's news is not so great. NewsChannel 13 is reporting that Ichabod Crane superintendent Michael Vanyo was arrested over the weekend after leaving the scene of an accident on Maple Avenue in Wilton. Reports are that there was property damage, although not specific as to what. Police would not disclose his blood alcohol content either, only saying it was above the legal limit.
Vanyo's attorney says he is still employed with the school district.
Should he lose his job over this? Not for me to say, that will be up to the school district and the parents. But there are some serious consequences to driving drunk and hopefully the school will use this incident to reinforce the dangers of drinking and driving.
