November is barely underway and it sounds like we'll get our first taste of winter before Thanksgiving. The National Weather Service says there's a chance the Albany area could get hit Thursday night into Friday with about 3 inches of snow. It doesn't sound like much by northeast standards, but keep in mind there are still a lot of leaves on trees, which when weighted down by snow often snap and take down power lines.
