Props to the Holiday Inn on Broadway in Saratoga. The homeless are a major concern during the coronavirus crisis, as shelters are not set up to keep people apart. However, Saratoga's Holiday Inn is stepping up to take in approximately 35-40 homeless people for the foreseeable future.
Karen Gregory is the director of Shelters of Saratoga, she told the Times Union:
Social distancing and hygiene is the only way to slow the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, people experiencing homelessness don’t have the ability to stay home. People experiencing homelessness don’t have regular access to sinks where they can wash their hands and those staying at homeless shelters can’t always remain six feet from another person. There are simply too many people and not enough space.
