Siena To Start And Finish Fall Semester Early

Update 5:36pm: UAlbany has also announced they plan for their students to come back on August 24th and end the fall semester by Thanksgiving.

Siena College was scheduled to start the 2020 fall semester on September 8, but with concerns of a second wave of coronavirus in the winter, the school has decided to change things up a bit. In-person classes will now begin almost two weeks earlier, on August 24th and end on November 25th.

President of Siena College Chris Gibson says:

While it is impossible to know for certain what impact the virus may have months from now, health professionals warn there is an elevated risk of a COVID-19 resurgence during the winter months. By beginning classes 15 days earlier than originally scheduled, overall instruction can remain at a normal pace, but with final exams concluding before Thanksgiving recess.

In addition, all classes will have cameras for those who want to attend via distance learning.
