PICS: Warm Weather Is Causing Flooding In Schenectady

A combination of the warm weather and a 17 mile ice jam has caused the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Warning for Schenectady County.

Areas that are near the Mohawk River are already experiencing flooding and streets leading up to Riverside Park are closed.

SCCC cancelled everything that was scheduled for today, both day and evening classes on top of activities and events.

There is an emergency system in place in Schenectady County for those with landlines. If you have an unlisted number or just a cell phone you need to sign up to get notifications.

There will be an emergency shelter set up at Scotia-Glenville High School if it becomes necessary.
