A manhole cover came popping open on State St in Schenectady this morning. Now I don't mean that it just opened up a little bit, it came blowing off forcing the shut down of an entire block.
Luckily nobody needed to be evacuated from any of the buildings and after some inspections the Deputy Fire Chief said that all the building and people inside them were safe.
One witness said that they saw smoke coming up out of the manhole
