Schoharie Crash Kills 20 Over The Weekend

It was a tragic weekend in the Capital Region, to say the least. If you haven't heard about the awful crash that happened in Schoharie this weekend I'll do my best to fill you in.

The accident happened in Schoharie on Saturday afternoon around 2pm. A limo that was carrying 18 people including the driver ran a stop sign and slammed into a parked SUV. All 18 people in the limo plus 2 pedestrians were killed in the crash.

The limo was on it's way to Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown to celebrate Amy Steenburg's 30th birthday. It was filled with family and friends of Amy. 4 of the victims in the limo were sisters. The limo was rented so that the group didn't need to worry about transportation or anything that day.

This tragedy is the nation's deadliest transportation disaster since 2009 and got the attention of the media both locally and Nationally.
