Minnesota Cop Pulls Over Driver With Pet Pig In His Lap

An officer in Chisago County, Minnesota got quite the surprise when he pulled over a driver on Interstate 35 for swerving between lanes. As Sergeant Jason Foster approached the red pickup truck, he noticed a pig sitting on the driver's lap.

“It was kind of shocking. He had this 250-pound pig on his lap. In fact, it was leaning against the steering wheel he was muscling the steering wheel to keep it in its lane,” Foster told the Fox 9.

The driver explained that he was in the process of moving and did not want the pig to be cold in the back of his truck. Foster decided to let the driver and his pet pig off with a warning.

He advised other motorists with pets to keep them in the back or in the passenger's seat.

"Let the pig lay in the back or put the pig in the passenger seat, whatever. Don't drive with a pig in your lap, either," he said.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office shared a photo of the pig on Twitter, joking that it was the first time a pig was the cause of distracted driving.
