Did Lizzo use Ozempic to lose weight during her fitness journey?
The "Good As Hell" icon underwent an impressive fitness transformation over the last few years and attributed much of her progress to countering calories, altering her morning routine, and getting her anxiety under control.
In January, Lizzo told fans that she reached her "weight release goal" after months of dedicated exercise, intentional eating, and strict adherence to goals and healthy habits.
"I’ve been working to get my anxiety under control for years. And then I decided that I want to release, and I’m ready to stop waiting to be myself, like, fully, and be happy. And I meditated. I calmed myself down. And I isolated a little bit," she explained during an Instagram Live in April.
Lizzo appeared as a guest on Trisha Paytas' Just Trish podcast on Thursday (June 19), highlighting everything she's "tried" in pursuit of her goal weight.
"I've tried everything," the "About Damn Time" songstress admitted after Paytas asked if she'd ever used GLP-1 medications.
"It's just the science for me — calories in versus calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food. That’s it. It makes you feel full. If you can just do that on your own — mind over matter — it’s the same thing."
The star also reflected on her wins, assuring that she worked very hard to get where she is today.
"I feel like I worked really, really hard. It was intentional. What I did with my body. So when I get compliments, I’m like, 'Thanks, b****!' I really receive it because I need to receive that. I don’t take it any weird way. I worked so hard for it. The people who compliment me see me working hard for it — they see me in my calorie [deficit], they see me exercising every day, walking."
