Almost two years ago a new Sonic restaurant was announced to be opening at the Town Plaza on Route 146 in Clifton Park. However those plans fell apart after disagreements arose between the restaurant owners and the land owner about requirements for drainage on the property. Now, the town's planning board seems to indicate that they will once again approve the plan to have the restaurant in the same location. If approved, work will begin in April, but no word yet on when it will officially open.
Clifton Park would be the fourth Sonic location in the Albany area. Latham and Troy have been operating for the last few years, the newest location in Glenmont is expected to open within a few weeks.
