No Fireworks To Be Sold In Albany County

After surge in 911 calls regarding complaints about illegal fireworks, Albany County is looking to ban the sale of ALL fireworks throughout the county. Firecrackers, M-80's, bottle rockets, etc are already illegal in the state of New York, this ban would eliminate the sale of low level fireworks like sparklers. If passed, the ban would not take effect until after July 4, 2020.

On Monday Governor Cuomo announced a task force to be headed up by the State Police to try and curb the amount of illegal fireworks coming into the state from Pennsylvania.

Calls to Albany County's 911 center are up 700% over last year with fireworks complaints.
